Egyptian National telecentre.org Academy

Implemented by the ICT Trust Fund, the Academy partners with the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt.

The Egyptian National telecentre.org Academy is engaged in setting up an institutional framework to administer telecentre.org Academy curriculum in Arabic for Egyptian telecentre operators. At present, the academy is recruiting over 30 operators from 10 telecentres as mentors of the Academy, who will reach out to hundreds and thousands of telecentre operators in the Arab region. The Academy has plans to initiate awareness sessions in August 2009, mainly to promote telecentre leaders as e-facilitators. The two modules developed by the academy on web 2.0 and blogging for telecentres are in demand all over the world. In addition, the academy is in the process of developing a module entitled "Safety on the net for telecentres".
