The Brazilian national telecentre.org Academy, run by the telecentre information and business association, ATN is partnered by the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Microsoft, and the Technology Development Centre of University of Brasilia (CDT). The Academy pays special attention to establishing courses in the areas of telecentre management and digital entrepreneurship. All of the 356 telecentre operators that registered for the first pilot were supported in their efforts to promote more options for their social enterprise, and to become centres of digital inclusion. In all, 627 people participated in the second pilot.
At present, the Brazilian telecentre.org Academy is experimenting with its successful program in Mozambique through a technical cooperation agreement signed with the University of Eduardo Mondlane's Centre of Informatics.
The General Director of ATN, Jose Avando Souza Sales remarked while reviewing the progress of the Brazilian telecentre.org Academy, “In a globalised world where resources are short and needs are growing -We must conjugate out effort to maximising results. ATN confirms its commitment to act perfectly aligned to telecentre.org global academy by presenting, contributing and suggesting contents that are useful to other countries.”
